Working From Home

Why work from home? But I like to ask another question ... Why NOT work at home?!! I worked for a majority of my children's young life and I missed out on a lot of their firsts. I can never get that time back.

Ask yourself these questions?

- How much do you spend on child care, clothes to wear and travel that could be saved by working at home?

- Do you have the flexibility of leaving your present job to attend to your family's needs at any given moment?

- Do you schedule your own hours and days of work at your present job?

- How long is your commute to your job and how much time would you save by working from home?

- Do you get home in time just to tuck the children into bed or do you have enough family time with your present job?

- Are you tired all the time trying to juggle work and family life?

- Are you raising your children or is someone else? (This one was a big factor in my leaving my career.)

These are just a few areas to think about. I will say you need to be self-motivated and dedicated. I will hope this website helps you make the right decision for yourself and your family. Remember this is an opportunity to have your own career on your own terms and for it to be as big or small as you want it to be. The "Contact Form"  can be used to ask me questions that you may have.

Congratulations!!

You have made the decision to work from home now what .....

For some this is easy cause they have the opportunity to take their present job's work home with them. But for the majority of us we have to figure out what we can do that will generate income. Some will actually have more than one stream of income from different sources. (example: doing income tax returns for elderly while also doing online marketing). The choice is yours and with that can be a bit overwhelming. I actually do accounting, company management, online marketing, and I am also involved with different aspects of the music industry.

There are some online marketing and "get rich quick" companies that promise you the world. Beware of these. My father always told me "if it sounds too good to be true ... then it probably is!" Remember you wouldn't expect to start a new job or career somewhere else and think you will be CEO in a month!

Some marketing companies that I can recommend are listed below with a few details of what they are about:

Avon:
- catalog orders by way of in-home parties or people ordering from the catalog
- requires placing orders, collecting money, and delivery of products
- need to have products on hand for demonstration
- get paid on a commission bases depending on what your sales were
- make-up, house hold products

Regal:
- very similar to Avon but different products
- mostly catalog orders, although cannot see why parties couldn't be done
- requires placing orders, collecting money, and delivery of products
- get paid on a commission bases depending on sales
- house hold products

Melaleuca:
- setting up appointments and setting up accounts
- no parties, no samples, no collecting money, no placing orders or keeping inventory
- no delivery of products: the customer once set up by you does their own online ordering.
- all environmentally friendly products
- paid on commission, every time the account owner purchases you get commission, for life. (Residual Income)
- cleaning products, make-up, pharmacy products, house hold products (wellness company)

Jockey:
- catalog orders by way of parties, may have some who order just by looking at catalog
- requires placing orders and collecting money / method of payment
- new system in place where the items will be shipped to the individual so you do not need to delivery the items yourself
- paid on a commission bases depending what you sell
- clothes for women

Now there are hundreds out there but be cautious. Also, some require you to continually buy sample kits which will influence your bottom line and how much money you bring home to your family.

Also, ask yourself ... what am I good at? What do my family and friends always compliment me on. Are you organized, environmentally conscious, artsy, good baker, good at developing recipes, love the computer, love social media? Take your strengths and run with it. Try a couple things you are good at, you don't need to limit them to just one. Look at my portfolio! And once again, ask for advice, ask for details of what would be involved. Information is always good to have and with our global resources that information is always available.
